This week has been wonderfully full, and I’m feeling so grateful for the opportunities we’ve had to connect with our community through food and tradition.
On Monday, we had the privilege of catering the JNF Breakfast for Israel. I’ve attended this gathering year after year, and it was such a meaningful experience to contribute in a deeper way this time around. Beyond the honor of supporting such an important cause, I loved diving into the details—setting the tables, making sure every element felt right, and watching everything come together.
Our pastry team—Ashlee and Mandy—took on a new challenge for this event: baking our own bagels from scratch. The pride on their faces when trays of beautiful bagels came out of the oven was unforgettable. Guests raved, the program was inspiring, and to top it off, my sister and brother-in-law chaired the event, making it feel like family from start to finish. The sweetest surprise was being asked if we might cater in Minneapolis someday—that’s how much they enjoyed it!
Lately I’ve been reading Save the Deli, a book about the fading tradition of Jewish delis. It’s been on my mind a lot, especially as we experiment with bagels, knishes, and other classics in our own kitchen. Carrying these food traditions forward feels important—not just for flavor, but for community and memory.
And we’re not slowing down. This Sunday, we’ll be helping CBINT with their Sisterhood Tea honoring Gayle Weber Rakita and supporting the JTS Torah Fund. Later that same day, we’re proud to be part of the Milwaukee Jewish Federation event at Discovery World. Being present at these milestones, alongside so many dedicated organizations, truly makes me love what I do.
One of the things that fills me with the most pride is our staff. Many of our event team members have been with us for nearly a decade. They don’t just work events—they walk with families through celebrations, simchas, and even times of consolation. Watching them serve not just with skill, but with heart and deep respect, reminds me how lucky I am to work with such a special team.
At Mosaic Catering, every week is busy, but every week is meaningful. From bnai mitzvah meals to community fundraisers, birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays, we’re honored to be part of life’s most important moments—and we can’t wait for what’s ahead.
